Recently, First Choice Solar brought everyone together for a team training day, followed by some well-deserved time out! These moments offer us a chance to connect, have a few laughs, learn, share ideas, and spend time with the people we work alongside every day.
And honestly, these types of days, although more often than not challenging to prioritise, are important because running a business is endless competing priorities. Phones ring, jobs move fast, installs are happening across multiple locations, and everyone’s focused on just getting to the next thing.
Taking a moment to come together matters. Not just to improve systems or talk shop, but to check in, reconnect and make sure everyone feels supported and part of something bigger. Because the truth is, they are.
Always learning
The solar industry never seems to sit still, there’s always something new to learn. New products, new processes, new ways we can keep improving how we work.
We put a lot of focus into training and ongoing upskilling because we want our team to feel confident in what they do and know they’ve got a great support network around them.
Sometimes that looks like technical training, and other times it’s improving systems behind the scenes. Sometimes it’s learning from each other, sharing ideas, helping solve challenges and finding better ways forward together.
We've got some incredibly talented people across the business, and there's a lot of value in creating space for everyone to share that knowledge. That's why we prioritise regular toolbox talks, team training days and ongoing upskilling sessions throughout the year.
We focus just as much on the future as we do the day-to-day, offering well-documented career pathways for team members with the drive and ambition to continue growing their careers. We want people to feel like there’s room to grow here, that effort is recognised and that stepping up brings opportunity.
