The Christmas Giving Project Outcomes

In 2025, we launched a new initiative, “The Christmas Giving Projects,” to support locals doing it tough.

These projects aren’t a little box we tick or a once-off gesture. They’re an ongoing commitment to supporting the community that supports us.  Life can be tough, and sometimes just showing up in whatever way you can makes all the difference.

Solar That Changes More Than Power Bills

The first of the two initiatives: gifting two complete solar and battery systems to local families in need.

Energy bills sadly don’t disappear when life gets hard. For families under pressure, reliable, lower-cost power can make a genuine, life-changing difference, both financially and emotionally.  Minimising the impact of the bill is about long-term relief, dignity, and giving families a little breathing room.

This year’s recipient(s):

  1. Local Tweed Family - The Klimionoks
Nominated multiple times by people who know them well, this family has been navigating a prolonged and deeply challenging period, facing multiple serious health issues across the entire household and all while relying on a single income to survive. Despite the weight they continue to carry, their focus remains not only on caring for their own family, but also, inspiringly, on supporting others wherever they can.
  1. Local Currumbin Waters Family – The Johnstons
This family has experienced a sudden and unexpected change in their circumstances following a devastating diagnosis, bringing both emotional upheaval and financial strain. Now relying on a single income, they are incredibly meeting this challenging season together with resilience, determination, and a strong commitment to one another.

For both families, ongoing treatment and recovery have meant higher day-to-day energy needs at home. Reliable, lower-cost power will hopefully provide some relief, easing one part of the enormous financial pressure they face.

Christmas Through a Child’s Eyes

Our second initiative focuses on something much more immediate: making sure kids didn’t miss out on the magic of Christmas.

In collaboration with GoodWe, we donated $4,000 worth of children’s toys to Baby Give Back.

That single donation meant 400 children aged newborn to 7 years old had presents to open on Christmas morning…..children who otherwise would have gone without.

Baby Give Back works directly with families facing hardship, ensuring donations reach children who need them most. Knowing those gifts ended up exactly where they were needed is something our whole team feels incredibly proud of.  To join our mission of support and make a much-needed physical or financial donation visit www.babygiveback.org

Thanks to you

To everyone who nominated a family, supported our projects, partnered with us, or chose First Choice Solar, thank you.

Because of you, families are feeling relief, children are feeling joy, and the new year has started with a little more hope than it otherwise might have.

That’s something we’ll always be proud to stand behind.
