Supporting the Communities That Support Us

First Choice Solar has always believed that the impact we make should extend way beyond the rooftops we install on.  Solar is what we’re known for, sure, but community is what we’re built on.

We recognised early on that no business exists in isolation. Every home we work on, every family we meet, every referral, every conversation… it all comes from the communities around us.

And when you’re part of a community like that, it doesn’t feel right to just stand on the sidelines.

Strong Communities

“Community” isn’t something you can really manufacture.  It’s built slowly over time through people showing up, supporting each other, and giving in whatever way they can, big or small.

Local businesses are part of that, whether they try to be or not. Because at the end of the day, we’re all connected to the same people, the same places and the same networks.

A business becoming actively involved in the community isn’t about making a statement; instead, it's about recognising that community connection and then choosing to be part of it.

From the very beginning, and throughout the 15 years we’ve been operating, we’ve supported local sports clubs, community groups, and grassroots initiatives across Queensland. Not because we had to, but because it felt like a place we could contribute within the community.

We’ve been proud to stand alongside local organisations like the Burleigh Bears, Palm Beach Sharks across all ages, Currumbin Eagles, and, more recently, Beerwah Rugby Club. Because these clubs are more than just sports.    They’re where friendships are built, where confidence grows, and where kids (and adults!) gain a sense of belonging.   And that kind of impact goes far beyond whatever is happening on the field.

There’s No One Way to Show Up

One thing we’ve come to appreciate is that there’s no single “right” way for a business to be involved in its community.

It doesn’t have to be big, loud, and in fact it doesn’t even need to be known to anyone other than the beneficiary!
It could be backing a local club (we love it!), supporting a cause that matters to your team or simply being present, building relationships, and being someone people in the community can rely on over time.

What matters is that your commitment to community is genuine, because when it comes from that place, it tends to last longer. It becomes a pivotal part of how a business operates, not just something that sits on the side.

That’s always been our approach, finding where we can contribute in a way that feels natural, and sticking with it.

Looking Ahead

Community has and always will be a fundamental part of who we are, but we know there are more opportunities to support and there’s a wider impact to be made.

As we continue to grow and evolve, so will our commitment to showing up, not just as a business, but as an active part of the communities around us.

We’re determined to use our position to create something meaningful here, and we’re looking forward to sharing more soon!

Being part of this community is something we have never had and never will take for granted.

The First Choice Solar. Powering homes. Empowering communities.
