First Choice Solar has once again been recognised as GoodWe Retailer of the Year! Our second consecutive year of recognition following our 2025 achievement.   

Receiving the award in 2025 was an incredible achievement for our business, so to be recognised yet again this year represents an incredible milestone and moment for us. It's a real reflection of all the hard work our team puts in every single day, the relationships we've built over the years and our ongoing commitment to delivering quality solar and battery solutions to Australians every single day.

And adding to the celebrations, First Choice Solar was also recognised as an EUPD Research Awarded Installer 2026 at the same event. Receiving two industry awards on the same day was an incredible moment for our team, and another acknowledgement of the work and commitment that goes into what we do every day.

We’ve really come a long way since we first opened our doors more than 16 years ago. The once, small community solar business, has grown into an established operation, with more than 15,000 installations completed across Queensland and Northern NSW, almost 50 staff, two brand new purpose built facilities, and growing. And a lot has changed along the way. Solar technology has advanced considerably, battery storage is a much bigger part of the conversation, and customers are more informed than ever about how they generate, store and use electricity.

We've grown and adapted alongside those changes, whilst our approach to how we do business has remained largely the same. Work with quality partners and products, employ experienced people, do the job properly and look after our customers and community. 

Who is Goodwe?

For those who aren't familiar with GoodWe, they're a global manufacturer of solar and battery storage solutions.  Their products range from residential, commercial and industrial and are used widely in installations around the world.

Founded in 2010, GoodWe has grown into an established name in the renewable energy industry, with a strong presence here in Australia.

Their tech plays an important role in helping households and businesses make better use of the energy they generate, whether that's through traditional rooftop solar, battery storage or more integrated energy management systems.

As the industry continues to evolve, manufacturers like GoodWe are helping drive the technology that makes solar and battery storage more accessible and practical for everyday Australians.

A Partnership Built Over Time

Our longstanding relationship with GoodWe has evolved over the years.  We've worked with their products for a long time now, and that experience has given our team a strong understanding and trust in the technology, its applications and how it performs across different installations.

Choosing the right manufacturing partners is fundamental to what we do, ensuring we supply the best available product to our customers and have confidence in the technology we recommend and the support available long after an installation is complete. That's particularly important these days in an industry where products and technology are continually changing.

Being recognised by GoodWe back to back in 2025 and 2026 really reinforces the strength of the relationship we've built together.

The Real Legends

It’s an amazing feeling to receive an award, and be recognised for what we try are best to do, day in day out, but we know achievements like this don't happen because of one person or one department. It’s an entire team of people making things happen.

From our energy consultants working with customers to find the right solution, through to our administration and warehouse teams coordinating everything behind the scenes, and of course our electricians and installers out on rooftops every day. Each part of the business plays an important role, and it's that collective effort that allows us to keep delivering as we grow.

Managing Director Matt McKinley said receiving the award for a second consecutive year was something the whole team could be proud of.

"It's great to be recognised again, particularly after receiving the award last year. We've built a strong relationship with GoodWe over many years, but this really comes down to the people in our business and the work they put in every day. It's something the entire team can be proud of."

Looking ahead

The Australian solar industry continues to move at a rapid rate, with battery storage, energy management and changing household electricity needs creating new opportunities for customers every day.

For us, that really means continuing to learn, adapt and work with manufacturers we trust, while maintaining the standards our customers have come to expect.

We've never been a business that measures success on awards alone, but receiving recognition like this, particularly two years running, is a reminder of how far we've come and the work that's gone into getting here.
